Something Renoir Missed?
Henry T. Welby of happy memory taught himself how to paint and devoted his time in retirement to copying many of Renoir's masterpieces. He also taught me to appreciate the fellow (and himself, too.)
So now, as I wander around I see things which might have caught both of their eyes...or all four of them.
This scene seems likely to me to have been one of them. From their particular vantage point, as i was there with camera in hand, I thought of them sitting and tried to do their vision justice.
Henry, for those who never had the pleasure to meet him, was the uncle of my first wife, herself of happy memory. He was a man.
